"Those PCOS whiskers that hold on for dear life? Week six — genuinely half of them are gone. I didn't think any home device could do this."
"I have ADHD and every other device became a chore I avoided for months. I have done this every single week without missing once. The auto-glide is genuinely idiot-proof."
"The regrowth itch was making me bruise myself from scratching. Eight weeks in and I genuinely feel nothing. The sensory relief alone is worth every cent of the $349."
You didn't fail the routine.
The routine was never built for you.
The at-home IPL market has spent two decades building devices for a woman who has patience, a high pain threshold, and hair that cooperates. That woman is not you. And that's not a flaw — it's a market failure. Here's exactly what went wrong, and what we built instead.
Every method you've tried — and why it was always going to fail you
The broken promise
cycle
-
1
The pain made you stop
Consumer IPL devices fire at full thermal intensity with no surface cooling. The "tasering" sensation is real — and for sensory-sensitive women, it's intolerable after session two.
-
2
The session length killed consistency
A 45–90 minute full-body session requires executive function reserves that women with ADHD simply don't have at the end of a working day. You ran out of steam. Every time.
-
3
The fluence was too low for your hair
Most consumer devices cap at 5–8J/cm² to stay safely within mass-market liability limits. PCOS and hormonally-driven hair requires clinic-level energy to reach the follicle depth where it actually grows.
-
4
You believed it was your fault
It wasn't. The device wasn't built for your hair, your neurology, or your sensory experience. You didn't fail the tool. The tool failed you.
Engineered around
your actual barriers
-
1
IceTouch™ Cooling eliminates pain entirely
A contact-cooling plate drops the skin surface temperature before each pulse fires. The thermal shock never reaches your nerve endings. 94% of prior IPL abandoners rate their first session comfortable or pleasant.
-
2
10-Minute Auto-Glide removes the consistency barrier
Drag once per area. The device auto-pulses at the optimal 0.8-second interval without you clicking, repositioning, or thinking. Full body in ten minutes. You cannot run out of steam.
-
3
15J/cm² reaches PCOS follicle depth
Clinic-grade fluence output that consumer devices don't offer. It reaches the deep dermal structures where hormonally-driven hair is anchored — the whiskers that "hold on for dear life."

90-day guarantee removes the financial risk
If you don't see measurable reduction in 90 days, we refund everything. No forms. No return shipping cost. No questions. Because we know it works — and we know you've been burned before.
How IceTouch™ actually works
Standard IPL fires a broad-spectrum light pulse that heats the melanin in your hair follicle, damaging the growth structure. The problem: that heat reaches your skin surface simultaneously, causing the burning sensation most people associate with IPL.
IceTouch™ Cooling works differently. A thermoelectric plate in the device head maintains contact with your skin at a temperature 8°C below baseline before, during, and after each pulse. This creates a thermal buffer at the surface — the light energy passes through unimpeded and targets the follicle, but the nerve endings at the skin surface never register the heat spike.
Your results,
week by week
IPL works progressively — each session disrupts more follicles in their active growth phase. Here's what the typical DolphinSkin Pro journey looks like, based on data from 2,400 users.
First flash
You feel cool contact — then nothing. No pain. The IceTouch™ experience is immediately different from anything you've tried before.
~10 minutesShedding begins
Treated hairs begin shedding — not falling out, but releasing from the follicle. You may notice hairs "wiping away" rather than regrowing.
20–30% reductionVisible thinning
Regrowth is noticeably finer and slower. The "prickly" stubble sensation is reducing. PCOS users often see the first real breakthrough here.
40–60% reductionSmooth dolphin
Most users report the smooth, "wet" skin sensation for the first time. Regrowth intervals extend to weeks rather than hours.
60–80% reductionMaintenance mode
Near-complete clearance for most users. One session every 4–6 weeks maintains results. Most women describe this as "functionally permanent."
80–95% reduction-
Daily shaving ritual — often bleeding, always itchy within hours
-
Leg prison summers — pants and leggings in sweltering heat
-
Strawberry skin — visible hair roots beneath the surface no matter what
-
Emergency anxiety — dreading situations where you can't shave
-
Sensory overload — itchy regrowth that makes you want to crawl out of your skin
-
PCOS whiskers holding on for dear life — through every method you've tried
-
Forget about your armpits entirely — for months at a time
-
Shorts, swimwear, spontaneity — no 40-minute prep routine required
-
Smooth dolphin skin — so smooth it almost feels wet, even in direct sunlight
-
No emergency anxiety — always ready, whether it's a hospital stay or a last-minute date
-
Sensory peace — the "too-muchness" of your own skin finally muted
-
PCOS hair finally responding — the 15J fluence reaches where nothing else has
"Week six and the PCOS hair on my chin is genuinely half gone. I've had 15 years of trying everything. I'm in actual shock."
"Week eight I went swimming for the first time in four summers. I didn't think about my legs once the entire day. That's everything."
"Two years since my last full treatment course. One touch-up session last spring. I pack holidays now without a single razor."
Built different.
Spec'd for results.
Three technologies. Each one designed to remove a specific barrier that made every other method fail you.
IceTouch™ Cooling System
A thermoelectric contact-cooling plate integrated directly into the device head. It drops your skin surface temperature by 8°C at the moment of each pulse — creating a thermal barrier so the light energy targets your follicle without the nerve endings at the surface registering heat.
- Zero "tasering" sensation — the nerve endings never receive the thermal spike
- Continuous cooling — active before, during, and after each pulse cycle
- 94% comfort rating from women who abandoned previous IPL devices due to pain
- Sensory-safe — whisper-quiet motor, no unexpected vibration spikes
10-Minute Auto-Glide Mode
Press once. Drag across the area. The device fires automatically at the optimal 0.8-second interval as you glide — no clicking, no repositioning, no mental tracking of where you've been. The executive dysfunction barrier that made every other routine fail you simply doesn't exist here.
- 0.8-second auto-pulse interval — optimal overlap coverage without manual clicking
- Full body in 10 minutes — legs, underarms, bikini line, face in a single session
- Smart motion sensor — pauses automatically when you lift the device, resumes on contact
- No "running out of steam" — the session is short enough that consistency becomes effortless
15J/cm² Clinic Fluence Output
Most consumer IPL devices cap at 5–8 joules per cm² to stay within mass-market safety parameters. DolphinSkin Pro delivers 15J/cm² — the energy density used in professional clinic sessions — reaching the deep dermal structures where PCOS-driven hair is anchored.
- 15J/cm² fluence — 2–3× the output of leading consumer IPL devices
- PCOS follicle depth — reaches the dermal papilla where hormonal hair anchors
- 500,000 flash lifespan — equivalent to years of full-body sessions
- 5 intensity levels — adjust from maintenance (Level 3) to aggressive reduction (Level 5)
Automatic Skin Safety Sensor
Before every single pulse, the device reads your skin tone using a built-in spectrophotometer and cross-references against its safety database. If the reading is outside safe parameters, it physically cannot fire. There is no way to accidentally use it at an unsafe intensity for your skin.
- Fitzpatrick I–V cleared — FDA-approved for five of six skin tone classifications
- Pre-pulse skin read — checks every single flash, not just at the start of a session
- Auto-intensity adjustment — automatically lowers output for deeper skin tones within the safe range
- UV filter glass — blocks wavelengths outside the therapeutic range from reaching the skin surface
The main device in matte black. 500,000 flash lifespan. Five intensity levels.
Pre-installed cooling cartridge. No replacement needed for the life of the device.
Smaller attachment for upper lip, chin, and jawline treatment. Snaps on in seconds.
Universal USB-C. No proprietary cables. Charges from zero to full in 90 minutes.
Clear, illustrated treatment protocol. First session takes under 15 minutes to learn.
Soft zip pouch for the device and all attachments. Carry-on safe.
12,900 women.
One honest verdict.
"I'm devastated it took me this long to find this. So much wasted time."
I have PCOS and have been dealing with facial hair since I was 13. I've tried literally everything — threading, waxing, epilators, two rounds of professional laser that left bruising. I was as nervous as I was sceptical about this. Bracing myself for the tasering sensation I'd had before. Instead I felt cold contact — then nothing at all. Eight weeks in and the hair on my chin and jawline that has "held on for dear life" through every other treatment is genuinely 70% gone. I nearly cried the first morning I woke up without having to immediately check my face. I'm devastated it took me this long.
"The first routine I have ever kept for more than 3 weeks"
I have ADHD and I have never — not once — kept a grooming routine for longer than a month. I'm six sessions in and haven't missed a single one. The 10 minutes is the key. My brain can commit to 10 minutes. It cannot commit to 45.
"The sensory relief alone is worth the entire price"
The itching from regrowth was making me bruise myself. I'm autistic and the sensory input from body hair against fabric was genuinely debilitating some days. Week eight and I feel nothing. Absolute nothing. The peace is indescribable.
"Cancelled my $400/month laser appointments"
Was spending $400 a month at a clinic. The results with this are identical and I did it in my bathroom in 11 minutes. I'm furious I didn't find it sooner. The IceTouch is not a marketing claim — it genuinely feels different to every other IPL I've tried.
"Works on Fitzpatrick IV skin — finally"
Perimenopause brought chin hair I never had before. I'm Fitzpatrick IV and was told by two clinics I was "borderline" for laser. The skin sensor here adjusted automatically and I've had zero irritation across 10 sessions. Results are real.
We know you've been
burned before.
Your scepticism is earned. These are the questions we get asked by every first-time buyer — answered without the marketing spin.
Most users notice shedding — where treated hairs begin releasing from the follicle — after sessions 2–3, around weeks two to four. Visible thinning of regrowth typically becomes noticeable at weeks four to six. The "smooth dolphin" sensation most users describe usually arrives around weeks eight to ten.
PCOS and hormonally-driven hair may take a little longer — weeks six to eight for first results — but the 15J fluence is specifically designed to reach the deeper follicle structures where that hair is anchored.
During the active treatment phase (weeks one to twelve) we recommend once every two weeks. This aligns with the hair growth cycle — targeting follicles in their active anagen phase each session.
After the initial course, most users drop to a maintenance session once every four to six weeks, then one or two sessions per year to maintain results. No daily commitment. No willpower required.
This is the most common question we receive. The honest answer: yes, with realistic expectations. PCOS-driven hair is hormonally stimulated, meaning it can regrow if your hormone levels fluctuate significantly. What IPL does is damage the follicle so that regrowth is finer, slower, and sparser — even if it doesn't stop entirely.
The 15J/cm² fluence reaches the dermal papilla depth where PCOS follicles are anchored. The majority of our PCOS users report 60–80% reduction after a full 12-week course. Many report near-complete clearance. Results vary based on hormonal activity.
The clinically accurate term is "long-term stable hair reduction" — not permanent removal. The FDA does not classify any at-home IPL device as permanently removing hair. What IPL produces is significant, long-lasting reduction that requires periodic maintenance.
In practice: most users are hair-free for 18–24 months after a full course, then do one or two brief touch-up sessions per year. Compare that to daily shaving — most women describe the maintenance phase as functionally permanent in terms of lifestyle impact.
IPL works by targeting the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle. It is most effective on dark hair — black, dark brown, and medium brown respond best. Light brown hair responds more slowly and may require more sessions.
IPL is not effective on white, grey, light blonde, or red hair — these lack sufficient melanin contrast for the light pulse to target. If you have naturally light hair, electrolysis is the recommended alternative.
Yes — the included precision facial attachment is designed for upper lip, chin, jawline, and cheeks. Do not use above the cheekbones (eyebrows and above) as the proximity to the eyes requires clinical-grade eye protection not included with the device.
For facial treatment, we recommend starting at intensity level 3 and adjusting based on your comfort. The facial area is more sensitive than the body, but the IceTouch™ cooling makes it tolerable for the vast majority of users.
DolphinSkin Pro is cleared for Fitzpatrick skin types I through IV. The onboard spectrophotometer reads your skin tone before every single pulse and automatically adjusts the energy output to the safe threshold for your tone. It physically cannot fire above the safe intensity for your skin.
Fitzpatrick V and VI (deeper skin tones) is not currently recommended for any IPL device — this is an industry-wide limitation, not specific to DolphinSkin Pro. ALWAYS check with your healthcare professional if you are skeptical.
We do not recommend using DolphinSkin Pro during pregnancy. While there is no specific evidence of harm, IPL has not been clinically tested on pregnant women and hormonal changes during pregnancy can affect both skin sensitivity and hair growth patterns in ways that may make results unpredictable.
Breastfeeding is generally considered safe for IPL use (avoid the breast and nipple area), but we recommend consulting your GP or midwife before beginning treatment.
Never use IPL directly over tattoos — the dense pigment concentration can cause burns. Treat around them with a 1cm clearance margin.
Avoid treating directly over raised moles, skin tags, or active acne. Flat, non-raised moles can generally be treated around but not over. If you have a diagnosed skin condition (eczema, psoriasis, rosacea) in the treatment area, consult your GP before use — flare periods are not suitable for treatment.
Yes — shave the treatment area 24 hours before each session. This is essential, not optional. IPL needs to target the pigment in the follicle below the skin, not in the hair above it. Surface hair absorbs the energy before it reaches the root, reducing efficacy and potentially causing surface burns.
Shaving also removes the temptation to wax or epilate — which would remove the follicle that IPL needs to target. Never wax, thread, or epilate between sessions. Shaving only.
Avoid IPL on recently tanned skin — wait at least two weeks after significant sun exposure before treating. A tan temporarily deepens your Fitzpatrick reading, which means the safe energy threshold for your skin is lower. The skin sensor may not fully account for a fresh tan and could overestimate the safe intensity.
Remove fake tan completely before treatment — self-tan products add pigment to the skin surface that the sensor will read incorrectly. Treat pale, clean skin only.
If you complete the recommended treatment protocol (once every two weeks for 12 weeks) and do not see measurable hair reduction, we will refund your full purchase price — no return shipping required, no forms, no interrogation.
